MAX1284BCSA+

The MAX1284BCSA+ is a single supply, low power, serial 12bit analogue to digital converter (ADC) with internal reference in 8 pin NSOIC package. It combines high bandwidth track/hold (T/H), serial interface with high conversion speed, internal +2.5V reference and low power consumption. The MAX1284 operates from single 4.5V to 5.5V supply. The 3-wire serial interface connects directly to SPI/QSPI/ MICROWIRE devices without external logic. The device uses an external serial interface clock to perform successive approximation analogue to digital conversions. Low power, ease of use and small package size make this converter ideal for remote sensor and data acquisition applications or for other circuits with demanding power consumption and space requirements. The MAX1284 is used in portable data logging, data acquisition, medical instruments, battery powered instruments, process control and pen digitizers.

• Operating temperature range from 0°C to 70°C
• ±1LSB integral nonlinearity and ±1LSB differential nonlinearity (no missing codes over temperature)
• Positive supply current of 2.5mA, shutdown supply current of 2µA
• Pin compatible, high speed upgrades to MAX1240 device
• Offset error of ±6LSB and gain error of ±6LSB
• Full power bandwidth (-3dB point) of 6MHz and full linear bandwidth (SINAD <gt/> 68dB) of 350KHz
• Serial clock frequency of 0.5MHz to 6.4MHz and maximum duty cycle of 60%
• Power supply rejection of ±0.5mV
