ADM238LARZ is a 5V-powered CMOS RS-232 driver/receiver. It is intended for all EIA-232-E and V.28 communications interfaces. It features a low-power shutdown mode that reduces power dissipation to less than 5µW, making it ideally suited for battery-powered equipment. It is used in applications such as computers, peripherals, modems, printers, and instruments.
- 5V power supply voltage, 4 RS-232 drivers
- 4 RS-232 receivers, 4 external capacitors
- Meets all EIA-232-E and V.28 specifications
- On-board dc-to-dc converters, latch-up free
- Shutdown supply current is 10µA maximum at (VCC = 5V ±10%)
- Logic pull-up current is 12µA typical at (VCC = 5V ±10%)
- RS-232 input resistance is 5Kohm typical at (TA = 0°C to 85°C)
- Propagation delay is 0.3µs typical at (RS-232 to TTL, VCC = 5V ±10%)
- Transition region slew rate is 8V/µs typical at (RL = 3Kohm, CL = 2500pF)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, 24-lead SOIC package
