HMC550A is a low-cost SPST failsafe switch used in switching applications which require low insertion loss and very low current consumption. With 0.7dB typical loss, this device can control signals from DC to 6GHz and are especially suited for IF and RF applications including RFID, ISM, automotive and battery powered tags and portables. RF1 and RF2 are reflective opens when “Off”. This switch requires a minimal amount of DC current in the “On” state, and offers compatibility with CMOS and some TTL logic families. The failsafe topology results in the switch being normally “On”, i.e. low insertion loss from RF1 to RF2, when no DC bias is applied. It is widely used in application such as RFID & electronic toll collection (ETC), tags, handsets & portables, ISM, WLAN, WiMAX & WiBro, automotive telematics, test equipment etc.

• Very low on state current is 200nA
• Low insertion loss is 0.7dB typical at (DC - 6GHz)
• Input third order intercept is 52dBm typical at (0.5GHz - 6GHz)
• Input power for 0.1dB compression is 32dBm typical at (0.5GHz - 6GHz)
• Operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C
• Package style is compact SOT26 SMT
