Only Antex bits should be used on Antex soldering irons. They have been specifically designed to match the power output of the heating element. ANTEX replacement bits are manufactured from highgrade copper, plated first with iron and then chrome to give a long working life. By designing the bit to wrap around the heating element, ANTEX have ensured maximum heat transfer into the bit, and minimum heat loss to ambient. Such is the efficiency that tests have proven that an ANTEX 25 watt iron has equivalent soldering power to many other manufacturers' 40 watt irons.
