SMAJ36A

The SMAJ36A from Littelfuse is a SMAJ series 400W, surface mount unidirectional transient voltage suppression diode in DO-214AA package. It features excellent clamping capability, glass passivated junction, low inductance, low profile package, built-in strain relief and fast response time of typically less than 1.0ps from 0Vs to VBR min. The peak pulse power dissipation (PPPM) is 400W at TA=25°C, 10/1000μs waveform, 0.01% repetition rate (duty cycle) and peak forward surge current (IFSM) is 60A measured on 8.3ms single half sine wave or equivalent square wave. This SMAJ series transient voltage suppression diode is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It is ideal for the protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus and other vulnerable circuits.

• Reverse stand off voltage (VR) of 36V and maximum reverse leakage (IR) of 1μA at VR
• Breakdown voltage (VBR) of 40V minimum, 44.2V maximum at 1mA test current (IT)
• Maximum clamping voltage (VC) of 58.1V at IPP and maximum peak pulse current (IPP) of 6.9A
• Power dissipation (PD) of 3.3W on infinite heat sink at TL=50°C
• Typical failure mode is short from over specified voltage or current
• UL E230531 approved, plastic package is flammability rated V-0 per UL standard
• IEC-61000-4-2 ESD 30KV (air), 30KV (contact) protection
• Suitable for surface mounted applications to optimize board space
• Operating temperature range from -65°C to 150°C and 260°C/40sec high temperature to reflow soldering
• ESD protection of data lines with IEC 61000-4-2 and EFT protection with IEC 61000-4-4 standard
